DareDevil

Time: 7:00pm

Type of Media: TV Show

Genre: superhero/action

Title: DareDevil

Duration: 100 mins

I watched this show today with my friend Ben off of my Netflix account. The shows first episode is very engaging with the viewer through using a very fast knife fight. It also introduces you to Karen and Nelson who you can tell are going to be the side characters that will assist him with trying to uncover the main villain kingpin or Wilson Fisk.

You get to witness Fisks decent into madness mainly because he starts off wanting to be this almost superhero like businessman but after meeting Vanessa he falls so madly in love that he becomes almost immune to rationality and starts killing people that threaten her and becomes incredibly violent towards people that didn’t do anything to hurt him like one of his bodyguards.

DareDevil was portrayed very well letting you see how he sees and hears his super sensitive hearing of things like heartbeats or motion allowing him to fight or tell if people are lying. The one thing I think marvel did poorly was his eyes, I think they kept his irises so you could feel his emotions better, but after having acid poored on his face I’d expect to see scars around his face or pupil damage to his eyes. I agree with giving him glasses but it means you still can’t see his emotions well.

The master was the character that also blind taught him how to use his hearing as a weapon and see it as a gift not a weakness. The master had a resemblance to splinter fromTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or a veteran that fought in Iraq. The guy is gritty and dangerous as well as working for a group of extremists very similar to Raz Al Ghul from batman. DareDevil got his sticks from the Master and we discover that when he was young he used to use them the to practice with.

The TV show has made the film look awful which is good because comic book fans and film enthusiasts both agreed that the film put shame to the marvel name through its inaccurate portrayal of the film and all around poor execution.

Overall I’d give the show a solid 8/10 and recommend it to any comic fans or people that enjoyed shows such as arrow or flash.
